Teaching and Learning MOTs
Sometimes what you need most is a fresh pair of expert eyes to take a look and point you in the right direction. Which is why our range of school-based ‘MOTs’ are proving so popular.
The Whole-School MOT
This is something we have been offering for several years but we have recently linked up with Dragonfly Training to make them even more effective and useful, whatever your school’s circumstances.
We will spend a day at your school looking across the board at a number of key areas that will help you move forward. We will then produce an ‘MOT report’, highlighting our thoughts and suggestions as well as a proposed way forward. For many schools this may be just enough to make the difference needed, especially given the expertise and experience of the Associates doing the MOT. However, if you feel that further support is needed you are under no obligation to make any further bookings with Independent Thinking. The most important thing is you get the right help. However, if you feel that we are best placed to offer further support we knock off the cost of the original MOT as a thank you and, of course, that further help comes with our standard ‘money-back guarantee’.

The Departmental or Key Stage MOT
Sometimes it is not the whole school that needs a ‘check-up’ but a particular department or key stage which is why we are delighted to offer this more focussed version of our MOT. Here we will come and spend time with a particular team to assess what is working, what isn’t so much and to help you start making some critical changes asap. We are entirely flexible over the number of days and the manner of intervention needed (which can be a combination of visits and virtual support) with an average being around five days spread across a term or school year.

With the widespread demise of the Local Authorities and Ofsted’s often tunnel vision on results, many schools just need an experienced ‘critical friend’ to come in and give them an honest appraisal of how things really are when it comes to teaching and learning. We look forward to being that critical friend for you.
