“Informative, enthusiastic, thought provoking. Brilliant!!”
“Vast range of ideas and materials to share. Tremendous passion and
enthusiasm”
As the idea of the ‘Learning School’ has grown over the last few years, Jackie Beere has been right at the heart of this educational revolution and is now spreading the word with passion and enthusiasm.
Jackie has been a leading player in the development of learning to learn and a competency-based curriculum. As an AST, she was awarded an OBE for her work developing new approaches to learning then later as a successful Headteacher.
Ofsted (2004) commented ‘The dynamic focus by the head teacher and other key leaders, on improving learning is proving very effective in raising standards and has achieved local and national recognition’
In addition, Jackie has worked with SSAT, the Campaign for Learning, the National College for School Leadership and, more recently, as a BSF consultant and School Improvement Partner for Cambridgeshire and Warwickshire LAs.
In recent months her contributions to the world of education have included staff and leadership training for SEAL, competency curriculum including the PLTS, ‘good’ to ‘excellent’ teaching and learning and change management using NLP techniques. She has helped many schools and Academies redesign their curriculum for KS3 in the UK and abroad following her own experience of leading the introduction of Opening Minds, the RSA competency curriculum, in her own school setting.
She has just finished writing her latest book A Competency Curriculum Toolkit as a companion to The Learners Toolkit, which has been a best seller for Crown House Publications.
In fact there are few people in education today who have tried harder to bring all the ideas and innovations for 21st century learning to life for implementation in the classroom. Jackie combines a passion for teaching with practical classroom-based ideas and inspiration for emotionally intelligent leadership in a variety of settings. For the last two years she has further developed her expertise in transforming learning to capture the hearts and minds of our young people working with a huge variety of schools. This has included taking part in a multimedia project for QCA working through Independent Thinking with schools to improve the engagement of students in learning through new approaches to curriculum design. Jackie is now a Master Practitioner of NLP and uses these powerful tools of mind management to inform all her work in education.
