Teaching and Learning MOTs

Observation backed up with Ofsted-friendly expert advice and practical ideas to help save you time and money as you become a 'learning school'

In an era of inspection, blame, naming and shaming wouldn't it be nice to have someone to give your classrooms the 'teaching and learning' once over from a purely positive point of view.

In our team we have seven Associates  - Phil Beadle, Jackie Beere and Hywel Roberts at secondary level; Simon Cooper-Hind and Will Ryan at primary level: Dave Harris and Ian Taylor covering both levels - who can do just that, drawing not only on their knowledge of effective teaching and learning but also their experience as headteachers in schools that Ofsted have deemed to be doing very well indeed.

Between two and five days - depends on size of school - one of the 'MOT team' will spend time in your classrooms with your teachers observing what is going on and then feeding back to the individual teacher, to the management team and to the staff as a whole what they have seen - and what they recommend - to make the quality of teaching and learning even better.

Unlike our friends at Ofsted, we can also model best practice in the classroom, team teach, lesson plan, advise on policies and schemes of work - whatever it takes to help a school build on whatever starting point it has in a way that will save time and money.

And at the end of it we will produce a short but detailed report (longer and even more detailed by negotiation if you would like) to help you as you take decisions and plan your staff training and development.

We can even put you in contact with the experts who can help you move forward, whether that be one of the Independent Thinking team, or someone with a specialisation we don't have but that will address an identified need.

(You are, of course, under no obligation to follow through on such recommendations and, unlike when you go in and get your brakes checked, we won't recommend work that doesn't need doing!)
