If it's about changing what goes on in the classroom it's about changing what goes on between ears - yours and theirs.

The 90s was known as the Decade of the Brain and we have learned so much about the workings of the brain in the last few years but is it getting through into our classrooms? One estimate is that education is about 15 years behind medicine in terms of the application of existing knowledge in day to day practice.

Click here for details of our favourite books about the brain or, for a view on the neuroscience of learning from our very own 'resident' paediatric neurologist Dr Andrew Curran, click here for details of the Big Book of Independent thinking with a chapter form Andrew.

We have also produced a special DVD with Dr Curran, Ian Gilbert and Michael Supple to help teachers apply the latest findings about the way the brain works to everyday classroom challenges. It's entitled Three Chairs, a Table and a Lamp and was filmed on location in North Wales. Click here for more details
