Brain Games
Games we like that develop effective thinking strategies
Cranium
A board game for two teams of up to five each that allows everyone to feel like they can win.
Based around basic hemispheric specialisations (i.e. there's things to do physically as well as things to work out mentally) the game is good for self esteem, team working and using all of your brain.
Professor Kawashima's Nintendo Brain Game
Yes, really. Click here to a link that will explain it far better than we can.
An Elephant Never Forgets Early Learning Centre
Simple memory game for age 4 upwards that (once you learn the secret strategy) helps develop memory skills and confidence, regardless of 'academic' ability. My six-year-old daughter regularly beats me.
